Mend, revive, love for longer.
"Three years new, three years old, mend and patch for three years more."
At Worn of a Kind, we see the wear in a garment not as an end, but as an invitation. A hole is an opportunity to slow down, to work with the hands, and to honor the narrative of a life well-lived. This kit serves as your starting point—a quiet balance between utility and the joy of making.
Every element is curated, dyed, and packed by hand in our Sydney studio.
The Pocket Guide
A 36-page hand-bound companion that leads you through a 7-step blueprint for repair. From assessing the weave to the rhythmic flow of the needle, it includes seven traditional patterns and space for your own drafting.
The Contents
- The Fabric: Four pieces of vintage Boro cloth for traditional layering and two pre-stenciled (heat erasable) denim patches.
- The Patterns: Four water-soluble 'Stick N Stitch' transfers for effortless pattern placement.
- The Thread: 2x 20m skeins of Sashiko thread—one in natural undyed cotton and one in a naturally dyed variegated tone.
- The Tools: 2x Sashiko needles, heat-erasable pens for marking, thread snips, and safety pins.
A Note on the Handmade
This is not a kit for professional perfection. It is a kit for the warmth of the handmade. Because each piece is prepared in small batches in our studio, slight variations in the naturally dyed thread and vintage patches occur—making your kit, and your repair, one-of-a-kind.

So beautiful, I wanted a experience of using authentic natural well made materials and that is what is in the kit
Extremely happy, Boro fabric squares are amazing, not like any fabric I’ve seen before.
Every part of this delivery was a joy. Excellent packaging. Gorgeous appearance. Highest quality products and thank you for the little surprise. I will be ordering more.
